QLD — ProShares Ultra QQQ
QLD delivers 2× the daily return of the Nasdaq-100, reset at the close of each session.
QLD price history
Total return (Yahoo adjusted close—dividends and splits per Yahoo), normalized to $10,000 at first available trade date. Educational only.
Strategy
QLD gives levered access to Nasdaq-100 beta with a daily reset, typically implemented through index swaps and futures rather than cash stock replication. That makes path and volatility just as important as directional conviction.
Because the underlying index is growth and tech heavy, macro rate shifts and valuation compression can produce larger swings than broad-market leverage funds. Position sizing and rebalance discipline matter more than simple long-only assumptions.
Manager and Issuer Pedigree
ProShares is one of the category-defining sponsors in listed leveraged and inverse ETFs, with a long operating history in daily-reset index exposure and established derivatives execution infrastructure.
Its broader complex sits in the tens of billions of dollars of listed ETF assets in public league tables, which supports primary-market depth and secondary liquidity across both leveraged and strategic sleeves.
Outperformance
Outperforms when mega-cap growth leadership is persistent and the Nasdaq-100 trend is strong with relatively contained realized volatility.
Underperforms in violent factor rotations and whipsaw rate shocks are usually adverse for daily-reset leveraged Nasdaq exposure.
