COWZ — Pacer U.S. Cash Cows 100 ETF
COWZ screens U.S. large-cap stocks for high free-cash-flow yield, emphasizing cash-generation quality over headline earnings optics.
COWZ price history
Total return (Yahoo adjusted close—dividends and splits per Yahoo), normalized to $10,000 at first available trade date. Educational only.
Strategy
The index starts from a large-cap universe, excludes financials, and reweights by free-cash-flow yield. Sector tilts can be large and shift quickly as valuation and cash-flow cycles rotate.
Because the methodology is rules-based, factor crowding and rebalance windows can influence short-run performance versus broad market cap indexes.
Manager and Issuer Pedigree
Pacer built a differentiated franchise around “cash cows” indexing and now runs one of the largest thematic-factor ETF complexes outside the biggest index issuers.
COWZ’s scale has improved secondary-market liquidity and execution depth, but users should still expect factor-style relative cycles rather than benchmark-like behavior.
Outperformance
Outperforms when markets reward durable cash generation, valuation discipline, and balance-sheet quality over long-duration growth narratives.
Underperforms when speculative growth and duration-sensitive sectors lead and high-cash-flow value exposures lag broad beta.
