Strategy
TGAF runs a diversified global book: bottom-up longs across regions, shorts funding factor and single-name hedges, with room for options per alternative-fund rules. Gross near 140% notional is intentional engineering, not accidental drift.
Because TGAF is Class E of a pooled trust that also has mutual fund series, flows in those channels can affect cash balances and transaction costs for ETF unitholders.
Manager and Issuer Pedigree
TGAF’s ETF units are Class E of the same long/short pooled trust Tralucent has run since March 2020. OM, mutual-fund, and ETF series sit on one portfolio, not a parallel book with a different sleeve.
Launch materials cited ~$55M as firm AUM, not this fund’s NAV. All unit classes share one book; use Fund Facts or statements for today’s size.
Outperformance
Outperforms when global dispersion is wide enough that a 200-name book can short crowded winners and buy neglected quality without every leg sharing the same macro beta.
Underperforms when every region sells off together, overwhelming stock picking, or when short squeezes lift crowded shorts. Favorable tape is idiosyncratic earnings cycles with functioning short locates, not synchronized central-bank hiking.
